Are you an actor? A musician? We are looking for performers for our productions.
Are you an artist? A choreographer? A carpenter or contractor? A seamstress? We are always looking for talented people to design and create sets, paint backdrops, create costumes and dance for our musicals!
Do you enjoy working behind the scenes? We’re looking for volunteers for refreshments and box office, stage managers, crew for the stage and lights!
Have you always wanted to be in a play? Or haven’t taken the stage since your school days, maybe the idea never occurred to you before but then you saw a show and thought, “Hey, I could do that!” Or maybe you’re just looking for a new way to have fun and make some friends.
Jay County Civic Theatre is the place for you.
Everything we do – from acting and directing to building sets, selling tickets. – is done by volunteers … 100′s of them each season. And we’re always looking for more.
Here are some ways in which YOU can get involved.
Come to an audition. It’s a great way to find out more about the play and available roles and join the fun, try out your skills in a casual and fun.
Check our season schedule to see what’s coming up, sign up for our mailing list or watch this site for audition notices. We offer roles for actors of all backgrounds, from beginners to the experienced. Even if you’re not sure you want to try out, feel free to stop by auditions and watch!
If you want to work backstage, auditions are also a great place to contact directors and let them know you’re available.
Usher a show. If you’re not sure where you’d fit in, but you’d like to get to know us a little better, ushering is a great way to dip your toe in the water without a major time commitment.

If you’re already part of ACT, but looking to get more involved, talk to a board member about joining one of our committees, we use volunteers for everything from writing news releases to preparing lobby displays to caring for our costumes and props!
