Message from the WebmasterJay County Civic Theatre's 91st show,
the Broadway & Hollywood classic ANNIE GET YOUR GUN
ended its run last week after 2 weeks of Wild West fun!!
Great job, everybody, especially Winchester native Skylee Denney
as the titular Annie Oakley. Skylee was nothing less
than FABULOUS in the role!
I hope to see her on Jay County's stage again soon!!
Speaking of which, auditions for Jay County Civic Theatre's 92nd show,
ASSASSINS, are scheduled for August 16 & 17, 2010.
ASSASSINS is the controversial musical by John Weidman with
music & lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
The show itself will be held October 21-24, 28-31, 2010.
ASSASSINS is a revue-musical that explores the dark side
of the American Dream, laying bare the lives of nine individuals
who assassinated or tried to assassinate the President of the United States.
ASSASSINS is 180 degrees from musicals such as ANNIE GET YOUR GUN ,
but it promises to be bold, original, and thought-provoking.
I have never seen the show, but I have listened to the music
so I know a little bit about the story.
I am looking forward to seeing how Director Cain M.Bilbrey will manage
to present this theatrical challenge.

Auditions for ASSASSINS will be held at 6:30 pm at Arts Place, Inc
on both Monday and Tuesday (8/16~8/17).

there will also be readings from the script (provided).
